During each interview, the system will monitor responses to any quota and screen out questions and automatically close the interview if the participant falls into a category that has already reached its quota limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  Quotas can be set up that:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n    limit the total number of responses submitted\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    allocate the total number or percentage of responses based on the answer to a question\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    allocate the total number or percentage of responses based on a derived variable\n  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  A screen out allows you to select which participants can progress through the questionnaire based on their answers to the screen out questions. This does not limit the total responses submitted.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  You can set up multiple quotas and screen outs for each survey. However, the overall target number of responses applies to all quotas and screen outs.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Survey design considerations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  There are a number of design considerations to note when creating the questionnaire.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>     The quota and screen outs are checked when the participant moves to the next page or submits the response. A page break should be set after each quota or screen out question.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>     The quota and screen out questions are mandatory in order to calculate the number of responses.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>     The quota and screen out variables must return a single response.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>     Make sure you do not use routing that skips any quota or screen out questions.    <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>     When a quota or screen out is based on a derived variable then all source questions are also mandatory and should not be skipped using routing.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>     Place the quota or screen out questions near the start of the questionnaire so they can be checked as soon as possible.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>     Mobile responses, collected using Interviewer, are not included in the screen outs or quota limits.   <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quotas and Screen Outs window<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  The <strong>Quotas and Screen Outs<\/strong> window shows a list of all the quotas and screen outs that are based on a variable.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"456\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/quotasscreenoutwindow2-png.png\" alt=\"QuotasScreenOutWindow2.PNG\" class=\"wp-image-6692\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/quotasscreenoutwindow2-png.png 456w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/quotasscreenoutwindow2-png-300x164.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>   On the Snap XMP Desktop menu, select the <strong>Tailor<\/strong> menu then select <strong>Quotas and Screen Outs<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  This opens the <strong>Quotas and Screen Outs<\/strong> window where you can:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>     create <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/snapxmp\/setting-up-quotas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">quotas<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/snapxmp\/setting-up-screen-outs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">screen outs<\/a>   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    clone quotas and screen outs\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    delete quotas and screen outs\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    open the Quota Control dialog to set the overall quota targets and settings\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    view the quota or screen out properties\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    view the sources and dependencies\n  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quota Control dialog<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  The <strong>Quota Control<\/strong> dialog contains the overall quota targets and settings. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   In the <strong>Quotas and Screen Outs<\/strong> toolbar, click the <strong>Tailoring<\/strong> icon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"456\" height=\"71\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/QuotasScreenOutWindow3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6824\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/QuotasScreenOutWindow3.png 456w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/QuotasScreenOutWindow3-300x47.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  This opens the <strong>Quota Control<\/strong> dialog where you can:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n    enable or disable all quotas and screen outs for the survey\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>     <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/snapxmp\/setting-an-overall-target\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">set overall target<\/a> numbers of responses   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>     <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/snapxmp\/notifying-participant-quota-or-screen-out-exceeded\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">set the message or URL<\/a> that is shown when the overall quota is exceeded   <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"466\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/quotacontrol-png.png\" alt=\"QuotaControl.PNG\" class=\"wp-image-6693\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/quotacontrol-png.png 466w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/quotacontrol-png-300x214.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 466px) 100vw, 466px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When running a survey you can limit the number of responses submitted using quotas and screen outs.
